We are looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join an online publisher to produce innovative design across online and print products and services.

Key responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

Creatives for external clients

  • Create print adverts for external clients for the weekly newspaper
  • Create digital assets for external clients including banner adverts and website wallpapers
  • Create and maintain the weekly flatplan to ensure that the sales team are aware of the available space in each week's edition
  • Work collaboratively with the commercial coordinator to ensure adverts are created and proofed within tight deadlines
  • Ensure all admin is completed in full and ensure all stakeholders are up to date about the progress of each creative

Creatives for internal clients

  • Collaborate with internal clients to meet their design objectives
  • Create and implement design elements to ensure each project is delivered to deadline, within budget, to specified quality standards and brand/style guidelines
  • Design and coordinate marketing materials to promote existing and new products and services including, but are not limited to: subscription products, awards ceremonies, jobs boards, casting services, dating services, Mobile Apps
  • Assist the digital department with web design and UX best practice
  • Support the editorial department with newspaper layout for special editions and features

Skills required

  • Experience working in-house or within an agency creative team
  • Excellent understanding of both print and web design
  • Experience in UI/UX, web & mobile design
  • Good knowledge of CSS and HTML
  • Advanced skills using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Capable of analysing briefs and business objectives and finding innovative solutions to problems
  • Excellent creative judgment, knowledge, experience and a track record of success in a previous design role
  • Understanding of and experience in branding, layout, colour theory and typography in both print and digital media
