Head of Marketing - Faith-Based NGO, London - Up to £55,000

One of the UK's leading NGO's that focuses on faith-based communities globally, is currently undergoing their biggest rebrand since inception. Because of this, they require an established Head of Marketing to come on-board and oversee the development and implementation of their global brand and communications strategy.

The purpose of this role is to increase the organisation's brand recognition, affinity, understanding and preference among numerous audiences from professional stakeholders, donors, local communities and key segments of the public.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning

  • Oversee the newly created strategic communications and marketing department with the responsibility of aligning the UK efforts with the overall global strategy
  • Ensure local and global communications, campaign and marketing strategies reflect the brand
  • Use insights to uncover and deliver the organisation's audience strategy and plan in relation to public engagement with the purpose of maximising income, influence and engagement of brand
  • Develop and implement the global brand strategy inline with their ambitious goals
  • Work collaboratively with external organisations, communities and global partners
  • Strategically plan, delegate, manage and review work plans and projects to ensure that the departments strategy is on time, budget and achieved
  • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand on market share

Budget and Reporting

  • Responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting on the communications and marketing budget
  • Ensure that each campaign is fully evaluated and improved to drive activity
  • Working with the senior members across all departments to ensure marketing and comms is aligned to their fundraising efforts

Leadership and Management

  • Manage a team of marketers and implement a growth plan that will increase the team size substantially within 12 months
  • Lead, motivate and develop your dedicated team as well as the wider organisation
  • Work with the international teams to guarantee that culture, learning and development is aligned with the overall strategy
  • Be the face of the organisation when it comes to engaging with local communities, attending events and being available to your partners


  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • Professional Marketing Qualification
  • Proven experience of development and implementation of an organisation's brand and marketing strategy
  • Experience working in the NGO sector
  • Firm grasp of all marketing channels from traditional to Digital
  • Experience managing large marketing teams, budgets and projects
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience in behaviour science is a bonus
  • Previous experience in a Head of Marketing capacity
  • Desire to take on a challenging leadership role in an organisation at the forefront of their community
