Managing Director - Marketing
We’re looking for an outstanding global communications leader to work with one of the world’s most powerful brands – London - to achieve real social purpose and prosperity.
As Managing Director, Marketing you will lead all of London & Partners’ global marketing and communications across business and consumer audiences, with a focus on US, China, India, France and Germany.
You will lead the campaign to maintain the city’s global reputation through challenging times, bringing outstanding political judgement, global media and business contacts, and digital and social media campaign expertise.
You will convene and inspire the organisations and individuals who shape London’s global reputation, brokering powerful partnerships with global brands and leading global business influencers.
You will lead passionate teams delivering a wide range of marketing and communications activity for London – from running London’s official visitor channel, VisitLondon; to campaigns to attract Chinese students to London universities; to creating world-class sales content for our inward investment teams.
Reporting to the CEO, you will be a member of the Management Committee of London & Partners, which is responsible for the overall direction, performance and culture of the organisation.
The Marketing Directorate is approximately 60 people, based in London and collaborating with our 12 international offices.
London & Partners is the Mayor of London's official promotional agency.

We tell London's story brilliantly to an international audience and we do this in partnership with organisations and people who have a stake in London's international promotion.
Experience of leading effective multi-market, multi-lingual campaigns tailored to local audiences, in at least some of these markets: US, China, India, France and Germany.
Experience of leading a significant integrated marketing or communications team, including a PR function and at least some of paid marketing, partnership marketing, digital publishing, content production, CRM/direct marketing, social media.
Strong understanding of the global political and economic context for London, and a proven ability to operate successfully within a public-sector or political environment.
Outstanding networking, influencing and stakeholder management skills, evidenced by a track record of brokering major partnerships with global brands and top-tier influencers, and/or building global coalitions around campaigns.
Evidence of developing high performing teams with diverse skills, experience and expertise focused on achieving results.
Ability to lead in a fast-changing, complex context.
A demonstrated commitment to inclusive leadership.
A passion for London.
Experience in both B2B and B2C marketing, including experience in some of the following fields: destination marketing, higher education, travel and tourism, inward investment, entrepreneurship/business growth.
A track record of leading teams to create outstanding marketing campaigns, recognized for effectiveness and/or creativity in their field.
Experience overseeing digital product development and implementation, marketing technology selection and implementation.
Evidence of leading teams to embed data and insight at the heart of marketing decision making.
Evidence of creating a culture of continuous innovation. Track record of evolving marketing strategy to respond to digital disruption.
