The Role: This Head of Digital and Trading is a brand new role within the marketing team and reports to the Marketing Director with a team to manage and develop. You will be responsible for using digital insight data to understand where target customers are coming from and how to maximise reach and conversion. By delivering exceptional user experience across the site, developing trading strategies and a great brand experience for customers, whilst managing agencies to ensure that all channels of digital marketing are being fully utilised. As a true digital champion, you will help to bring other internal stakeholders on the journey to ensure that the digital strategy is best in class and delivers high volume traffic of excellent quality ensuring high conversion, whilst recognising the importance of all other customer touchpoints for an integrated experience across digital, offline and in-store.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce trading reports and work with finance team to create sales plans and forecasting
  • Paid search - PPC, affiliates, re-targeting, geo-targeting
  • CRM - email marketing

  • Web development- work with IT teams to communicate what is required of the website and how the road-map works in order to deliver volume traffic
  • SEO
  • ROI and analytics across all channels

  • Agency and internal stakeholder management

The Candidate: To be considered for this Head of Digital and Trading role, you must have worked in a B2C environment such as retail, leisure and travel, direct marketing/mail order etc. and ideally have experience of working in a role where you are communicating directly to the end user.

From a true-online trading background, you will be naturally numerate and analytical and love to get under the skin of where traffic is coming from and how people are transacting with the site to ensure that conversion is high. You must be able to demonstrate how you have liaised with other business functions to gather data and information which is then used to shape the digital trading strategy. Essential to this role is someone who is an inspirational manager and leader.
