Our client a pharmaceutical publishing company is looking for an ambitious ‘Media Sales Manager’ to play a key role in the commercial team. This role is specifically to work on two market-leading B2B pharmaceutical titles and includes a print/digital magazine and website, plus potential to promote other company products such as webinars.

You will be selling multi-channel advertising space across a number of different print and digital platforms, largely through targeting and cold calling companies.

You will also play a key role in sales and business development for your titles. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to drive the direction of the product and make their mark.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Selling print and digital advertising space by telephone and face to face

• Make presentations to clients and media agencies

• Build excellent relationships with clients

• Attend events

• Work closely with the editorial team to develop commercial opportunities

The perfect candidate will have the following experience/qualities:

• Previous experience selling in a B2B role, particularly telesales and face to face

• Have a real interest in media and advertising

• Identify, qualify and close opportunities for revenue and profit generation

• Highly driven and self-motivated

• Excellent proposal writing skills in Word and PowerPoint

• Strong sales acumen including ability to present, negotiate and upsell

• Ambitious to succeed and the drive to exceed targets

• Liaise with editors and content managers to fully understand publication requirements

• Deliver new business revenue (digital and print)

• Tenacity and focus on seeing a deal through to successful delivery

• Good client management and interpersonal skills

• Agency selling experience would be an advantage

• Excellent organisational skills

• Team player
