We are looking for a brilliant Sponsorship Manager to work across the Art & Design Exhibition Portfolio for this media organisation it includes the  UK’s  art fair for modern and contemporary art and takes place annually bringing together over a hundred leading international galleries – showcasing exceptional work from both leading figures and emerging talent. The other exhibition is for graduate design, ensuring that the life cycle of the design industry continues and thrives. 

The primary function of this role is to source, develop and secure new sponsor and partnership relationships and opportunities; alongside retaining and managing, their most valuable sponsorship customers. You’ll be responsible for finding the very best solutions to meet their business objectives whilst ensuring that their brands are seen as leaders within their fields – creating exceptional experiences for exhibitors and visitors alike. 

This role will lead the development and execution of a sponsorship sales strategy and will be required to report against this strategy. Finding newness in sponsorship lead sales, you’ll work through inventory we already have plus develop new ideas that are in partnership with the ED’s business goals and strategy for the show.


• To manage personal sales based on sponsorship targets and goals. Revenue should be self-sourced and retained with clear growth plans

• To understand the business goals and strategic plans, in particular the strategic plan of each event and how this both impacts and provides opportunity for your clients and prospective clients

• Directly report to the Portfolio Director on business, personal development and objectives and indirectly report to the Event Directors and Sales Managers on forecast, actual revenues and opportunity

• Research and develop leads with prospective new clients and build an impressive network of industry contacts, with accurate forecasting both short and long term

• Schedule meetings with appropriate client contacts in order to present partnership ideas, pitch proposals, and negotiate sponsorship packages

• Research and develop appropriate new partnership opportunities across the events and year-round

• Maintain and develop current relationships and establish new relationships with clients to identify opportunities for revenue growth through new sponsorship initiatives, sponsorship of new content or creation of new show concepts in line with the business and event strategy



• Solid experience in high value B2B sales

• A proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets in the exhibition industry and is highly target driven

• Experience in sponsorship sales with demonstrable ability to reach out to all market opportunities

• Great networking skills - always looking to develop new contacts and look for new opportunities

• Demonstrable experience of developing and strengthening relationships with key decision makers

• Creative thinker, able to evolve concepts and propositions to suit client brief 

• The ability to pay close attention to detail

• Highly organised with impeccable time management and prioritisation skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in person, over the phone and in writing

• Experience in planning and delivery

• Experience in working within tight timescales

• Experience of contract management and contract negotiation


• Understanding of brand culture and marketing agencies

• Understanding of conventional and digital marketing platforms

• Understanding of budget and business margin management

• Culturally aware, with an interest within arts, events and media
