As our Campaign Assistant, you’ll be responsible for supporting our Campaign team across our wide- ranging strategic communications. You’ll help spread our vision for the city, enhance the reputation of our unique council and achieve our ambitious ‘City for All’ objectives.
You’ll assist on our campaigns from the planning stage through to completion, and develop a sound understanding of strategic communication in the process. These can range from behaviour-change initiatives, for example our ‘Don’t be Idle’ anti-pollution campaign.
Informed by sophisticated customer insight, you’ll gain a strong understanding of audience mindsets. Working closely with the research and insight team, each campaign will be optimised to hit certain targets and you’ll be expected to monitor and report on effectiveness of campaigns and
make recommendations to improve delivery.
Working across multiple projects at once, you’ll also be required to develop strong working relationships with our team members and officers as well as keeping up to date on innovation within the industry and sharing your insights across the team.
Finally, this role requires out of hours working to provide event support including advice on media handling.
Please note this is a politically restricted role – this should underpin all of your work.
A passionate communicator, you’ll be well-versed in social media, including relevant bloggers, influencers, industry events and key issues. You’ll also have a sound knowledge of the issues facing local government and those relevant to our council in particular.
You’ll be educated to degree level or hold a communications qualification or equivalent by experience.
In terms of skills, we’re looking for candidates who are IT literate with excellent verbal and written communication and exceptional interpersonal skills. You’ll also have a strong ability in managing deadlines, timetables, and dealing with competing priorities.
