As our senior campaign officer, you’ll be supporting the delivery of our wide-ranging strategic communications. Your work will help share our vision for the city, enhance the reputation of our unique council and achieve our ambitious ‘City for All’ objectives.
Drawing on a network of stakeholders and cross-organisational partners, you’ll play a key role in our strategies and campaigns from the planning stage through to completion. These can range from behaviour-change initiatives, for example our ‘Don’t be Idle’ anti-pollution campaign to developing engagement plans for multiple audiences.
Informed by sophisticated customer insight, you’ll employ the use of qualitative and quantitative data and to hit specific campaign targets, and you’ll be expected to monitor and report on the effectiveness of campaigns and make recommendations to improve delivery.
Working across multiple projects at once, you’ll also be required to provide advice and guidance to colleagues for all communications outcomes and target audiences effectively. Finally, this role requires out of hours working to provide event support including advice on media handling.
Please note this is a politically restricted role – this should underpin all of your work.
You’ll be experienced in working on proactive multi-media campaigns and communication strategies using a variety of tools, techniques and channels with minimal supervision.
A passionate communicator, you’ll be well-versed in social media, including relevant bloggers, influencers, industry events and key issues. You’ll also have a sound knowledge of the issues facing local government and those relevant to our council in particular.
You’ll be educated to degree level or hold a communications qualification or equivalent by experience.
In terms of skills, we’re looking for IT literate candidates with excellent verbal and written communication and exceptional interpersonal skills.
