The slate of activity that RDSC works on ranges from new publishing, merchandise and digital products, to producing new plays, musicals and live entertainment, in addition to activating major new films and television series. RDSC also develops and implements a range of branded platforms such as the annual Roald Dahl Day and Roald Dahl’s Imaginormous Challenge. Brand Partnerships is an intrinsic part of the business, and an area of real growth. Reporting into the Partnerships Manager, the Partnerships Assistant will be responsible for proactively identifying new opportunities and alliances to fit in with our brand strategy, in order to drive revenue and brand growth through bringing the iconic stories and characters to new audiences in innovative ways.

This opportunity is ideal for a Junior Executive who holds experience in sales and/or marketing and is looking for a fantastic opportunity to build a career in entertainment and brand partnerships, with one of the most loved family brands. There is real scope to develop within this role as we embark on our growth plan.

Role and Responsibilities

The Partnerships Assistant will work closely with the Partnerships Manager to activate the partnerships strategy (both short and long-term objectives) in addition to managing and developing our existing raft of brand partners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead on prospecting - securing contacts, scoping potential partners and securing initial meetings
  • Managing outreach/approach lists
  • Brand research and meeting preparation
  • Creating pitch materials, presentations and round-up documents
  • Compiling post-campaign and partnership reports
  • Own asset packs (and keeping them up to date) for partners and manage send-out
  • Identifying, developing and consolidating potential brand partnership and industry opportunities - lead on competitor and industry insight
  • Relationship Management:
    • Day-to-day contact for long term brand partners
    • Fostering a collaborative environment between RDSC and its partners
    • Project management of live brand partnerships
    • Clear communication with our partners
    • Lead on securing contacts and initial meetings for prospect partners
  • Working collaboratively alongside RDSC teams including Marketing, Licensing and Design
  • Offering creative suggestions to the Marketing team on how best to bring brand partnerships to life
  • Producing artwork briefs for the design team
  • Ensuring creative excellence across all partnerships and campaign assets
  • Organising meetings and logistics
  • Conducting general research and carrying out ad hoc tasks
  • Administrative support for Partnerships Manager
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as we may notify you of from time to time

Key Skills and Experience

The Partnerships Assistant will:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an Executive within a marketing, partnerships or sales role
  • Have strong project management skills
  • Have strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Have strong relationship building skills
  • Have strong commercial acumen
  • Have a strong passion for bringing best in class campaigns to market
  • Be determined to succeed and results orientated
  • Have a creative eye, with an ability to interpret and critique creative assets
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Be proactive and demonstrate use of initiative
  • Be extremely organised, able to multi-task and have excellent time management
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be a big brand fan with an understanding and enthusiasm for Roald Dahl’s iconic stories and characters (and be able to clearly and positively convey this to stakeholders)
  • Have an understanding and appreciation for the vision of the brand
  • Have experience of developing and managing simultaneous/multiple projects and working with a varied group of stakeholders
  • Have enthusiasm for the fast-developing world of brand partnerships and collaborations
  • Be IT literate: Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Apple Keynote in particular

Preferably with experience of working:

  • On commercial partnerships
  • With or for an IP holder or agency
  • With a major global brand
  • With Adobe Suite, such as Premiere Pro and After Effects (this would be highly beneficial)
