Marketing Manager (Not-for-Profit) - Reading
A Marketing Manager / Head of Marketing is needed to join a private sector led, not for profit partnership with the public sector across the greater Reading area.
Reading is the fastest growing economy in the country with a range of challenges and opportunities. Our client is the economic development and place marketing company for Reading with a successful 12 year track record of growth and adding value to; the economy; businesses; the town and its residents as well as developing and delivering a Vision for Reading in 2050. With a team of ten people, an annual budget of £1.5m they operate two Business Improvement Districts serving over 800 town centre businesses, marketing Reading as a primary location for business and as a visitor and shopping destination. Due to continuous success they are now looking for a Marketing Manager / Head of Marketing to join their team.
Joining as the Marketing Manager / Head of Marketing you will be responsible for marketing and profile-raising Reading to both B2B and B2C target markets. They are embarking on the development of a new ‘marketing strategy' which will deliver company marketing objectives, service their daily workstream communications requirements with deliverable funded and measurable marketing campaigns and communications plans. Whether this be by preparing and managing the corporate marketing strategy, advising the Exec Director and the Board on its corporate marketing & communication plans or managing a small team. The ability to combine strategic thinking, creativity and attention to detail will be pivotal for the success of the Marketing Manager / Head of Marketing.
To qualify. You should be a Marketing Manager / Head of Marketing / Chief Marketing Officer / Marketing Director or similar with a CV that demonstrates:
- Previous experience as a Marketing Manager or similar;
- You will hold a professional qualification and/or membership of a professional body e.g. CIM/CIPR and can give evidence of further training and development in areas such as social media, brand management, strategy, modern communications strategy and planning;
- Previous marketing experience across multiple sectors;
- Previous experience of a range of social media channels will be one of your key strengths;
Ideally you will have worked in a marketing capacity in a not for profit or charity in at least one of the company disciplines; economic promotion, arts and culture events, destination management, place marketing. Previous fundraising experience would also be desirable.
