Excellent career-development opportunity for a naturally-talented commercial influencer with significant experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably complex supply / delivery agreements in the IT, Digital or Technology space. You'll play a part in helping to deliver enterprise eCommerce solutions to the likes of GAME, Halfords, Sainsbury’s, Selfridges and Ted Baker.

Head of Commercial Contracts Key Responsibilities:

+ Full responsibility on behalf of the Company for all of its commercial and legal agreements, primarily with clients, but also including supplier contracts, agency contracts, employment contracts and consultancy agreements
+ Review, draft and negotiate contract terms in line with business requirements, sound legal principles and company policies
+ Provide practical advice, guidance and support to the business on commercial matters, contract terms and legal issues
+ Ensure company’s standard contractual terms and approach are kept up to date with changes in business, legal and regulatory requirements
+ Manage and maintain company’s contracts register and repository, including all customer and supplier agreements to ensure all key terms are readily accessible and all agreements captured centrally
+ Ongoing contract management on in-flight projects with Account Execs / Project Managers
+ GDPR legal expertise, risk management and advice on projects
+ Annual fee rate and client charges review
+ Maintaining the Company’s fee rate cards
+ Proactive support and control with respect to bid / RFP pricing, review and approval process
+ Developing new contractual arrangements to cover new business requirements
+ Maintaining relationship with Legal division
+ Management responsibility for one other employee

About You…

You will have ability, maturity and initiative to balance the needs of the company with doing what it takes to win and keep clients. You will also be dedicated / hard-working / responsive.

We need you to be really great at:

+ Extensive experience across commercial agreements, preferably in the IT industry
+ Knowledge and application of contract law, including all relevant legal principles
+ Good negotiation skills, able to use appropriate skills and knowledge to attain positive business outcomes
+ Good business judgement, understands commercial pressures and implications
+ Strong organisation and time management skills; able to juggle multiple demands and priorities successfully
+ Adaptable and able to work flexibly in the context of a large growing business
+ Approachable and a team-player, works with others to share knowledge and workload appropriately
+ Commanding respect and exercising and appropriate level of authority as the Company’s Head of Commercial Contracts
+ Maintaining effective and pro-active control processes
+ High level of attention to detail
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills and in particular, able to communicate appropriately with key stakeholders and clients / other external parties
+ Computer literate with advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email skills
