At NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) we know that communication plays a critical role in donation and transplantation across the UK. Informing and educating people about their donation choices and building our reputation are fundamental parts of our goal to be the best donation service in the world. And that is why we need a multi-talented, creative leader to devise the campaigns and marketing strategies for organ donation that will get us there.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to define and lead our organisation’s marketing strategy across England for organ donation. Bringing together colleagues across disciplines, you will be responsible for leading the development of the behaviour change and campaign strategy that informs audiences about their donation choices, encourages people to donate through the delivery of facts and stories, and ultimately save and improve lives.
It’s a time of exciting change for organ donation across the UK with the law changing to opt-out in England and Scotland, but against one of the most challenging backdrops of Covid-19. The role will be demanding and varied, and you will take charge at a time of great challenge.
You will play a central role in making sure our campaigns are successful, insight-led and value for money. You will take on a multi-million pound budget. , Between our internal teams, senior stakeholders and rostered agencies you will ensure joined up work and deliver on campaign objectives across earned, owned and paid media channels while maintaining trust in donation.
Please note that the role does require both travel and remote working to coordinate our sites across the UK.
About you We’re looking for leaders with a successful track record in a senior marketing or role. With a proven record in developing and managing successful marketing campaigns, using earned, owned and paid media channels, you will also bring a strategic and analytical mindset to all of your work, underpinned by resilience and a ‘get things done’ attitude.
You will be used to managing sizeable teams and large budgets in a customer-oriented environment, coordinating campaigns that use a wide variety of paid and unpaid media channels. Experience in managing agencies, applying customer insight and reporting on performance are also essential.
Skills-wise, communication comes first. We need inspirational, articulate and engaging people who champion diversity and inclusion and can influence decisions and build a trusted network of contacts to make our efforts a success.
You will have experience of marketing up to Masters level or a Masters-level qualification and be able to demonstrate your continuing professional development.
