What inspires people to care about (and thus to support) the causes and charities that we fund? Simple: world-class creative. The entertainment, stories and partnerships we produce – sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, and always meaningful – engage millions of people of all ages, and move them from emotion to action. So this role is central to Comic Relief’s entire proposition. You’ll oversee and lead our creative output, liaising with agencies, BBC commissioning teams and our Creative Advisory Committee (which will be established this year, and chaired by one of our founders, Richard Curtis) to build strong, two-way relationships that ensure our creative content is brilliant, compelling and true to Comic Relief’s values.

You’ll need to truly love our mission and the world in which we undertake it, with a razor-sharp grasp of the modern mainstream and a burning desire to engage mass audiences on an emotional level. A sophisticated grasp of how to collaborate with numerous stakeholders is vital, and you’ll know how to deliver high-quality work with talent of National Treasure rank. Able to deliver across all channels (TV, radio, film, digital, live and virtual events), the work that you produce with your team will be some of the most seen and shared entertainment of the year, and we’re expecting that your track record will be commensurate with this extraordinary opportunity.
