Independent, award-winning med comms agency seeks an ambitious Scientific Director.

There is no cap on salary – you will be paid according to your experience and ambition. A flexible and remote working option is also available.
The agency is looking to make this appointment soon with a preferred January / February start date.
This fast-growing 25-person agency delivers highly effective, insight-driven medical communication and education programmes predominantly for global clients.
The agency’s point of difference is its focus on the creative side of med comms, the ideal candidate will be creative as well as scientific.
As part of this growth, it is seeking a Scientific Director to further strengthen its Scientific Services team.
One of the key criteria will be to establish existing client relationships and build new ones. In addition, you will take ownership of a number of accounts and be responsible for the strategic oversight and ultimate delivery of multiple client projects.
The Scientific Director is also a senior manager, with input into the performance, training, review, workflow and growth of Scientific Services. The role will suit an experienced medical writer with lots of writing experience who is looking for a move into a more senior role overseeing a department.
You will want to contribute significantly to business development in terms of organic growth on your own accounts, new business lead generation and the development and delivery of new business presentations.
Building and consolidating key client and opinion leader relationships will be central to this role. You will also assist in defining the agency’s vision and growth, refining efficient processes and procedures, and maintaining and increasing its fiscal health.
- A Life Sciences / medical degree is required; further education to MD or PhD level is desirable
- Five years’ medical writing experience in a med comms agency, ie at least Principal Writer level or equivalent
- Experience in line management
- Lead writer skills: breadth of therapy area experience, strategic client counsel
