My client is a medium sized, successful B2B marketing agency based in Central London and they are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join them as soon as possible.They are looking for a really committed individual, someone who can manage the detailed implementation of integrated campaigns and build trusted relationships with clients in multiple countries, and to work relatively independently. There’s a great scope to progress, and to develop all the strategic and commercial skills required of an Account Director.

As a senior account manager you will be constantly solving problems, working with all key agency functions (research and planning, senior management, account handling, studio), and external suppliers, to maintain a consistently high quality of work, strengthening client relationships, applying strategic rigour, and achieving desired project results. This role includes:

  • Developing the agency’s relationships and responsibilities with clients, building and implementing strategic account plans & actions plans for each of them

  • Working with senior management to understand all clients’ businesses, making themselves indispensable to the client’s marketing teams

  • Reporting to the Strategic Client Director, responsible for managing staff within their teams (AMs, AEs, Grad Trainees), being accountable for their performance and providing them with professional development opportunities.

    Responsible for

  • Managing the client relationship through effective communication and problem solving, working alongside senior management to maintain and grow the client-agency relationship

  • Working with planners to interrogate client briefs, by challenging and asking questions, to develop communications briefs that meet business needs in an effective and accountable way

  • Working with planners and researchers to apply the necessary strategic rigour, working with strategic frameworks and models as required for the brief/project

  • Writing creative briefs in association with the planner and going on to direct the development of creative work, presenting and selling this effectively to clients

  • Responsible for building client development plans for each account under their control, and working with senior management to deliver on the plans

  • Ensuring that project deadlines and budgets are met

  • Managing the financials of each project and account, ensuring profitability and timely invoicing and billing. This includes maintaining profitable running of projects and time spent across each agency function

  • Maintain focus on sales targets for all responsible accounts, reporting key financial data to the agency’s senior leadership team

  • Identifying ways to grow client accounts through new business opportunities, helping shape clients’ strategic growth

  • Maintaining a detailed awareness of relevant market trends affecting their accounts, and developments in the wider advertising and communications industrypage2image25773760

  • Managing the work and performance of team members e.g. AMs, AEs, Grad Trainees (where relevant)

  • Maintaining accurate records of meetings, decisions and next actions Personal requirements

    Education

• Must be educated to degree level

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years in an agency environment with a proven track record of working in a

    successful account team.

  • Experience in project management and financial management software packages.

    Knowledge, Skills and abilities

  • Commercially and creatively astute.

  • Effective negotiators and communicators, both written and verbally.

  • Able to inspire a team, the wider agency, clients, and other external partners.

  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Highly numerate with the ability to craft budget estimates and to manage profit and loss on

    individual project for clients as a whole

  • Persuasive, able to sell work and ideas, and respond positively to feedback.

  • Knowledgeable and passionate about client’s businesses, and where and how advertising and

    marketing contributes to success.

  • Flexible, and able to solve problems.

  • Resilient and positive in difficult situations.

    Motivation

  • Good at evaluating creative work; able to give and receive feedback to support

    its development.

  • Able to juggle competing demands and remain calm under pressure.
