Senior Brand Manager
Job Title: Snr Brand Manager – Valspar & Ronseal
Ronseal is one of the most well-known brands in the UK & Ireland and Valspar an exciting, growing and innovative brand in the DIY category. They offer the opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual to them as a Senior Brand Manager. This role focuses on ensuring the Valspar and Ronseal brands are consistently communicated in every single touch point – both internally and externally. The role requires someone with strong influencing skills as well as a passion, and the energy to grow and develop both brands. Hand in hand with our roster of top agencies, this role is responsible for developing the brand strategy and supporting assets including TV/Broadcast advertising and supporting digital assets for use by the wider marketing team. This role along with their direct report is responsible for TV advertising (creative), PR, CSR, and sponsorship activities. Responsible for ensuring NPD pipeline and projects reflect the brand guidelines and direction. This role is expected to act as a consultant to any party – internally and externally who is representing the Valspar or Ronseal brand – bringing energy, ideas and attention to detail.
Brand strategy– this role sets the brand strategy which will be used by all other functions – including to the Go-To Market Manager to set the overall annual and ongoing marketing plan. It works closely with all marketing departments and the creative, social, digital and media agencies to set brand strategy – identifying opportunities for brand development and growth. Brand strategy for execution in channels is delivered through the periodic playbook.
Campaign execution – responsible for the delivery of CSR, PR and sponsorship activities from planning to execution, ensuring they are all on brand and drive real, on budget and drive business value.
Brand guardianship – as the go-to person expertise and advice on the use of and development of the Valspar and Ronseal brands This role must influence multiple stakeholders, internally and externally ensuring brand guidelines are met. Must take a proactive approach to ensuring brands are well represented in terms of look, feel and tone of voice across all channels including internal communications, retailer communication, campaigns and packaging development. Creates opportunities for brand education for needed parties across the business e.g. brand story telling workshops and inductions etc. Must be able to articulate brand tone of voucher where and when needed across asset creation, and presentations.
Asset creation – works with creative agency to develop base brand assets – asset from which all marketing departments can create their own, relevant content i.e. photography copy guidelines and video content delivered in the periodic creation of both the Valspar and Ronseal brand playbooks. Directly responsible for TV campaign creative.
Brand representation – responsible for all internal and retail partner communication creation to support campaigns, product launches, and events – including bespoke retailer events.
Brand tracking and research – responsible for brand tracking and ad-hoc consumer research, ensuring brand growth – feeding insight into the planning process.
1. FORMAL EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Marketing degree or equivalent
• CIM qualification
2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
• Several years working with a consumer brand
