Senior Strategist / Strategy Director

This is a senior role for an outstanding exponent of brand strategy. Someone who is highly adept at bringing clarity to key strategic issues – someone who is curious, astute, concise and lucid.   

This person will work very closely with the senior management team, being responsible for project delivery across strategy, client relationship, commercials, team happiness and efficiency.

The primary focus of this role is strategy – thinking, writing, and illustrating. Our client’s strategic model is deep and transformational. Their work sits in the realm of brand strategy and increasingly, as a result of client demand; brand purpose.

The client mix is challenging and varied, tending to be a mix of innovative B2C orientated projects for clients, across retail financial services, cultural, niche technology brands, universities and home retailers. There is also an international flavour to their work.

This role focuses on providing pure, high level, strategic counsel. As their primary strategist, you’ll be the key strategic lead on all day to day client work, leading a team of consultants and with the support of a senior management team.

The nature of their work, means it is important that you can work independently, that you are comfortable developing and shaping strategy, creating your own solutions and ideas. It’s imperative that you are confident and experienced enough to write the first draft strategic response and generally undertake the role of their day to day, lead strategic thinker.  

  • You will act as a mentor and lead for other consultants
  • Build strong collaborative relationships
  • Deliver projects end to end
  • Ensure best practice and alignment - in the design, management and delivery of all projects
  • Demonstrate strong commercial management
  • Collaborate with client teams as a thought leader and ensuring they are part of the strategic journey
  • Build, develop and nurture senior client relationships

We anticipate that you will have around  10 years’ experience, (although we are open minded about this) – with experience of business and brand thinking and strategy, consumer brands, experience and service orientation, consultancy and/or management, experience working with research and marketing communications also desirable. As mentioned, we are open to considering candidates with less experience but bags of potential who can demonstrate the ability for rapid career advancement.
