Strategic Lead

Our client is a unique advisory business which encourages organisations to be clear about their ambition and reason for being.

The client mix is fascinating and varied, tending to be a mix of innovative B2C orientated projects for clients, across retail financial services, cultural, niche technology brands, universities and home retailers, private equity. There is also an international flavour to their work.

The primary focus of this role is strategy – thinking, writing, and illustrating. Our client’s strategic model is deep and transformational. Their work sits in the realm of brand strategy and increasingly, as a result of client demand; brand purpose.

This role focuses on providing pure, high level, strategic counsel. As their primary strategist, you’ll be the key strategic lead on all day to day client work, leading a team of consultants and with the support of a senior management team.

The nature of their work, means it is important that you can work independently, that you are comfortable developing and shaping strategy, creating your own solutions and ideas. It’s imperative that you are confident and experienced enough to write the first draft strategic response and generally undertake the role of their day to day, lead strategic thinker.

Candidates with a heavy weighting of brand strategy experience are naturally of interest although we are not restricting ourselves to this one discipline alone. Your experience is likely to include exposure to business and brand thinking and strategy, consumer brands, experience and service orientation, consultancy and/or management, experience working with research and marketing communications also desirable. If you have a depth of experience and expertise in pure strategy, can demonstrate an interest in the subject matter as well as intellectual agility and rigour, then you are in the right sweet spot for this role.

It’s difficult to specify the amount of experience needed for this role, as it’s as much to do with ability, how you think and your passion for the work. Perhaps you’ll have 10 years plus but we are equally interested in someone who has 6 years plus, who is very bright and has a passion to do this kind of work with a range of fascinating clients.

The successful candidate will join a highly innovative and pioneering consultancy in an influential role. There is ample scope to grow and expand the position and fast track career advancement is encouraged.

So for example, some people find they need lots of help at the initial stages of 'what's next?' and so we work with them to generate ideas, explore who they are and what matters most to them. Other people already have an idea of what they want to do and so the focus of the coaching sessions is more about how they achieve that.

We're happy to arrange an initial, no fee conversation to explore how Career Coaching might help you. Please contact simon@rarecoaching.co.uk
