CREATIVE COMEBACK RETURNSHIP

17th - 28th MAYCreative, Design & Studio

Major Players are working with Creative Equals to find talent for the Creative Comeback programme 2021 in association with D&AD and Diageo.

This is a fantastic opportunity for women who are looking to return to employment after an extended career break.

Creative Comeback is a "returner" initiative run by Creative Equals, to support women who have had a break from their creative career for a variety of reasons such as parental responsibilities, serious illness, mental health, caring responsibilities, a sudden disability or remain unemployed because of a disability, return back to their career. The purpose is to address the lack of women represented in top creative leadership roles.

The 10-day programme is free to attend and is open to women, and those who self-identify as female, who've previously worked as a creative (art director, copywriter, designer or similar role) in the advertising, marketing and design industry, and provides bridges back into employment. We will make sure you are armed with the tools, knowledge and confidence to help you secure full-time or freelance employment in today's evolving job market.

The 2 week programme will run virtually from 17th May - 28th May.

In week 1 you will get to meet your fellow returners and be designated a creative mentor from one of our partner agencies and you'll receive a creative advertising brief from Diageo. D&AD will run sessions to help you flex your creative muscles again and get you up to speed with creative industry trends. You'll also receive a portfolio critic and hear from key speakers about how to navigate today's job market.

In week 2, you'll spend 3 days working as a team of 2-3 (with support from your creative mentor) on the Diageo brief. You'll then present your campaign ideas and / or designs back to Diageo and a winning presentation will be chosen! The final day will be a Talent Day for you to meet HR / Talent / Hiring Managers from creative agencies who'll offer you career and portfolio advice.

Application eligibility (all must apply):

* women and those who self-identify as female * creatives with a min of 5 years as an art director, copywriter or designer (or very similar role) * majority of working experience in the advertising, comms, marketing, digital or design industry * a career break for at least 12 months (eg. parenthood, illness, caring break, travelling etc) ** if you've had bits and bobs of freelance work ( nothing career enhancing) you can still apply * you must have support structures in place to be able to attend the course virtually every day from 9:30am - 3:30pm

Please note part of the application process will include a small creative response to a brief. We kindly ask that you don't spend more than one day on the response. Thank you to the sponsorship from Diageo and our partner agencies to enable this programme to be free for the returners.

APPLICATION DEADLINE MONDAY 5th APRIL 6pm.
