We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Marketing Comms Manager to cover Maternity in our Marketing team within our Head Office in Deeside, near Chester.

Purpose of the role:

To take ownership and management of the annual Marketing budget, customer insight and customer centric Marketing and trading plan. Lead Marketing Comms team in planning and delivering an effective and cost-efficient marketing plan consistently delivering relevant value message to our customers across all Above-the-Line Marketing channels.

 Day to day activities:

  • Manage the annual marketing budget ensuring plans are cost efficient, all spend is tracked and accounted for throughout the financial year.
  • Work closely with external media agency on briefing key trading plans, target audience, campaign objective and allocated media budget, working with them as the plan develops and capturing any challenges/questions before presenting final proposals to Head of Customer Marketing.
  • Work closely with external media agency research and insight team to manage monthly customer research panel ensuring we’re constantly seeking the most valuable insight for planning.
  • Working with YouGov on Iceland monthly brand index tracker and communicate key successes to the wider team
  • Manage the holistic annual Marketing Comms plan and identify and activate improvements throughout the year.
  • Work closely with wider marketing teams to ensure consistency of message across all customer touch points.
  • Drive a customer first culture across the Marketing team, turning key customer and consumer data into actionable insights ensuring our comms message is always relevant to our customer needs.
  • Work closely with the ecommerce team on brand channel analysis keeping teams fully up to date on spend and messages.
  • Keep up to date on competitor activity actioning prompt reactive opportunities and using competitor and market insight for planning.
  • Manage a high performing team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of marketing campaigns.

 Skills required:

  • Significant experience in developing and delivering an annual Marketing plan across multiple advertising channels including TV
  • Experience or good understanding of media buying
  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and ability to translate customer and commercial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good attention to detail a strong work ethic.
  • An excellent communicator with strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, own and work to a plan and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with managing teams, and be able to lead and delegate to others
  • Be agile and responsive to trading requirements
