Digital Graphic Designer
This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the Digital team at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) working on exciting design projects and providing creative thinking that will help to evolve and develop our communications, products and presence.
The CMA helps to make sure competition works in people’s favour and businesses treat their customers fairly – whether that be securing hundreds of millions of pounds in refunds for package holidaymakers who were not allowed to take their trip due to coronavirus, or analysing whether companies merging could negatively affect competition in their sector. In a world where markets are rapidly changing, the need to communicate what we do, and the benefits of our work, has never been greater.
As a Digital Graphic Designer, you will join our Digital team, which uses a mix of channels to create and issue content that explains our work in clear and engaging ways. We focus on users’ needs and create and manage content across social media and GOV.UK, the internationally respected UK government website.
You will be responsible for designing content for use across all the CMA’s digital channels (including GOV.UK and social media). This will include work on graphics, documents and videos, as well as designing our annual report.
You will also help ensure the ongoing protection of our brand, owning the CMA’s brand guidelines and continuing to develop our approach to design work. This will also involve advising colleagues at all levels within the organisation on how to apply them.
A recognised qualification, such as an undergraduate degree, in a design related discipline, or demonstrable experience in a design role is essential. You will also need proven experience of creating and designing engaging and varied digital content, including documents, that can be used across different social media and online channels. Experience of using the Adobe suite to design content for a wide range of audiences and experience of dealing with brand guidelines is equally important.
